Introducing the Bedfordshire Down Syndrome Support Group, Our Chosen Charity for 2026

At Mead Open Farm, we’re proud to support a different local charity each year - bringing our community together to make a meaningful difference. For 2026, we are delighted to be partnering with the wonderful Bedfordshire Down Syndrome Support Group (BDSSG).

About the Charity

The Bedfordshire Down Syndrome Support Group is a local, volunteer-led organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people with Down syndrome, along with their families. They provide a welcoming network where families can connect, share experiences and access valuable resources.

Through regular meet-ups, events and guidance, the group helps to promote inclusion, confidence, and independence for individuals with Down syndrome. Their work plays an important role in building a supportive community and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

How We’re Supporting Them

Throughout the year, Mead Open Farm will be working closely with the charity to make a positive impact. We’ll be:

• Providing special days out and events for families supported by the group, creating fun and memorable experiences at the farm
• Hosting fundraising events and activities to raise vital funds for their ongoing work
• Raising awareness of the incredible support they provide within the local community
