Will everything be open at Mead Open Farm?

Giant’s Rock Climbing Wall, Sky Trail and Sky Tykes High Ropes and Tractor and Trailer Rides will be open from April-October. Shaggy’s On Road Adventure is open on weekends and during school holidays.

All other outdoor play is open year round, including Topsy Turvy Towers, Jumping Pillows (weather dependent) Mini Go Karts, Go Karts, Shaggy’s Cove, JCB Digger Village, Mini Golf, Paddock Walk, Farmyard Favourites Walk-Through Barn and Demo Walk-Through Barn.

Do I need to book online?

Visitors are no longer required to pre-book, however when you pre-book your tickets online you will save 20% on admission. This means tickets will cost more when purchased at the entrance, however you are welcome to pre-book tickets online right up until the point of entry if you want to. We’re a completely cashless site and all visitors must pay using a card or mobile device (we accept debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay).

Members do not need to book online, however, all members will be required to show their Membership Card at the entrance to enter Mead Open Farm.
This can either be in the form of a virtual card which can be added for free in the Mead Open Farm app or a physical card. Please note, physical cards are no longer available and are being phased out.

How do I add my Annual Membership or Online Tickets to the Mead Open Farm App?


To add your membership/tickets to our app you will need to follow the below steps:

Already Have Physical Membership Cards?

  1. Open our Mobile Application.
  2. Click on tickets, located on the bottom bar.
  3. Select add ticket.
  4. Then you can scan the barcode on the back of the membership card using your camera.
  5. Your membership card will then be added to our app.

Adding A New Member / Adding Tickets

  1. Open our Mobile Application.
  2. Click on tickets, located on the bottom bar.
  3. Select add ticket.
  4. Click retrieve from order details.
  5. Please enter your email address as well as the 9-digit ID code beginning with ‘D3’ that you were sent when you purchased your membership.
  6. Your Memberships will then be imported to the app.

Do I have to wear a face mask?

Face coverings are no longer required, but you are welcome to wear one if you would like to.

Will I be able to just turn up on the day if I haven’t booked a ticket?

Yes, you can turn up on the day provided that we are not fully booked.  Please note, we’re a completely cashless site and all visitors must pay using a card or mobile device (we accept debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay).

Do you offer a Group Booking Discount?

We have a Family/Group Admission Ticket type to help enable larger groups to visit the site. 1 group ticket is for all participants and you can book your group ticket online here.

Starting from £9.95 per person, group ticket prices vary throughout the year depending upon seasonality and our events programme, and the ticket is for a minimum of 20 people. It is only available on selected dates.

This is not a school visit ticket, if you would like to book a school visit you should contact guestservices@meadopenfarm.co.uk

Will I be able to arrive at Mead Open Farm outside of my allocated arrival time?

No. Allocated arrival times are in place so that we can ensure visitors are more evenly spread out around Mead Open Farm, to avoid any congestion and ensure maximum protection for our visitors and staff.

Therefore, we will ask that you stick to your allocated arrival time. If the time you wish to come is not available, please look to book for another day.

How long can I stay at Mead Open Farm?

You are welcome to stay all day from the time of your allocated arrival time slot.  Please also feel free to enjoy food and drink from award-winning Grainstore Kitchen. Click here to find out more.

Will there be food & drinks available to purchase on site?

Yes.  Our award-winning Grainstore Kitchen will be open with a sit-down or take-away option.  Click here to find out more.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes of course, however, our Indoor Picnic Area will be closed from September to February. You are also welcome to eat your picnic in our indoor play area through the whole year.

We politely ask that all visitors dispose of their rubbish in the bins provided to help our team keep the site clean and tidy throughout the day.

Is there parking at the farm?

Yes.  We have plenty of free parking.

Can I pay with cash?

We’re a completely cashless site and all visitors must pay using a card or mobile device (we accept debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay).

I am a disabled visitor, or visiting with a disabled person, what do I need to know?

Our disabled rate covers a disabled person plus carer, on presentation of a Blue Badge, DLA or PIP letter. Please bring along one of these on the day of your visit.

Mead Open Farm is accessible for visitors in wheelchairs and we have good accessibility for our disabled visitors. If you have any questions, you can email us at info@meadopenfarm.co.uk or see our access statement on our website.

Do you allow dogs?

We only allow assistance dogs at Mead Open Farm.

Will my under 18 month old still be able to use all the facilities even if I haven’t paid for them?

The majority of activities at Mead Open Farm are suitable for children under 18 months, however some activities have a height or age restriction for safety reasons. Please refer to our outdoor play page for height charts and more information.

Do you have baby changing facilities?

Yes, we have baby changing facilities in our toilets in the Playbarn and Grainstore Kitchen and also in our main building where you arrive.

Do you cater for allergies?

Yes, we do. Please ask one of our staff members who will be able to provide the information for you or visit our Food & Drink page for our Allergy statement and information about ‘Natasha’s Law’.

I’m pregnant, can I still visit?

Yes you can. Please follow the handwashing guidelines in each area when feeding animals. Please note sanitisers are not a sufficient replacement for proper handwashing.

Can I use public transport to get to you?

The nearest bus and train services go to Leighton Buzzard and you can get a taxi from there.

Can I smoke or vape?

Mead Open Farm is a no smoking or vaping site, however there is a smoking area located 20ft from the main entrance.
