Great onsite facilities
Mead Open Farm has everything you need and more for a great family day out.

Three catering options
You’ll definitely work up an appetite on your day out. From children’s menus and healthy snacks to yummy cakes and delicious hot drinks, the Tea Room, Paddock Kiosk and Shaggy’s PlayWorld Cafe caters for all tastes.

Shaggy’s PlayWorld is open every day from 10am until 6.30pm (last orders at 6pm daily) and can seat 300 visitors. Perfect for a morning breakfast roll, lunch or early evening supper.Click here to view a sample menu or a sample child menu.

If you want speedy refreshments whilst out in the paddocks, right next to the Go Karts and Crazy Golf you’ll find the Paddock Kiosk. Serving hot and cold drinks, as well as light snacks, it’s perfect for a mini break!

Plus on busier days, the Tea Room is also open for visitors too.

Great value gifts
The Mead Open Farm Gift Shop has something for everyone's taste and budget. From colourful wellingtons and animal masks to soft toys, collectables and souvenirs.

Plus for schools and groups, we can provide gift bags at £2 or £3 each. Click here for more information.

Ample free parking
Mead Open Farm is easily accessible for families and groups on days out by car and coach, with plenty of free parking onsite. Reserved parking spaces for the registered disabled are also located by the entrance.

Toilets
Toilets are located in Shaggy’s PlayWorld and near the Tea Room, including disabled toilets and baby changing facitilies.

Facilities for babies
As a family attraction we endeavour to provide as many facilities for mums and babies as possible on days out. Baby changing facilities are available near the Tea Room and within Shaggy’s PlayWorld. Plus, we provide a microwave in Shaggy’s PlayWorld and in the Tea Room to heat. If you have any suggestions on further facilities we could offer, please email us at info@meadopenfarm.co.uk.

About 60% of Mead Open Farm has paths made of concrete or tarmac; however the paddocks are only accessible over grass (unfortunately sometimes muddy during wet weather).

Facilities for those in wheelchairs or special needs
Wheelchairs will be able to easily access all the animal buildings and Shaggy’s PlayWorld come rain or shine! The animal paddocks and some outdoor play areas are however only accessible over grass (unfortunately difficult for wheelchairs in wet weather).

Disabled toilet facilities are available within two of the main buildings, as well as parking spaces reserved by the entrance for the ‘registered disabled’.
