An update on Rupert

We’re pleased to say that little Rupert is happy and healthy.

Although you may not see a member of staff on camera, all of our new mums and baby lambs are checked throughout the day and night by our dedicated lambing team (and don’t forget, we have access to our LambCam video feed too!)

Little Rupert is growing well with a rounded belly which means his tummy is full and he has been feeding.

Thanks LambCam fans!

Psst, be sure to visit us at the farm to meet the cute newborns and lucky mums in person!

Yesterday, I saw Rupert feeding from another Ewe while she was eating nuts from the trough. He was sneeky and approached from between her hind legs so she couldn’t see him. I guess this is normal for lamb who’s mother doesn’t want to feed her lamb?

Thank you so much for Lamb cam, it has meant I’ve been able to watch and keep up to date with all of those lovely lambs and their mummies. I’ve been glued to the screen and become obsessed for the last 3 weeks and it has been a joy and exciting to watch. I used to visit Mead Open Farm when I lived nearby, when my son was little but he is now 16 and we live on the South Coast so this has been a joy to watch. Fantastic team looking after the ewes and lambs and stepping in when needed and out of the 28 expectant ewes, I did manage to see one lamb being born so that made my day! Well done everyone and to all of the ewes

june ewester,

When we see something that we are worried about, we do not tell you because we don’t think you know your job, but because we are trying to be helpful and are concerned. We have seen ewes refusing to feed in the past and the lambing team have bottled fed them. Matt has always been grateful for our help in the past. Pleased to know Rupert is ok .
